We’ve found the block, and now it’s time for the DIY build to begin.

As first time owner builders it’s not going to be easy, there are sure to be some struggles and some arguments, some laughs, sweat and tears.

But at the end of the day, it’ll all be worth it…when we can finally call that block a home!

PROPERTY EXCHANGED

And so it started…July 2010, this was when I made the decision to follow my fiancé back to his home town of Orange, NSW. Moving to Orange was far from a dream come true for me, and the months that followed did nothing to change that. Tim renovated an old barn on his parents’ farm for us to live in – a temporary living situation – so temporary that two years later we still call it home. Whilst we still live in that same barn, the things that we’ve seen, places we’ve been, and how we’ve both grown in-between has made that move one of the best.

From the time we moved we began to look for a potential home – was it best to renovate or build?

Well, as this page suggests – build it was! On a small- but tidy 5 acres, 10 minutes out of Orange.

On the 13th September 2011 the property was exchanged – and the planning began.
